The grace of the agave has earned it the well-deserved name of “Swan’s Neck.” The curvature growth of the stem resembles a swan’s neck as the plant coils and curls its path toward the sun. The sensuousness of the smooth jade leaves is felt rather than seen as they gently widen to form a rounded lamina before tapering into a sharp point. The hint of cerulean concentrated at the base of the leaf and brushed delicately along the length of the leaf, enhances the intrigue of the plant. These features combine to create an inherently calming effect for the observer judicious enough to appreciate the details. The agave’s assumed simplicity is in reality a mask for its more subtle complexity.
